Laundry Terms
Garment loss or damage
- Pillowpress Laundry Ltd exercises the upmost care when processing laundry, however items may be become misplaced or damaged. Missing or damaged items must be reported to us within 48 hours of collecting laundry. We follow the Textile Service Association (TSA) industry guidelines for fair compensation. From these guidelines we would potentially compensate you once liability is proven by us, only once the age, original value and proof of purchase from you is clearly established.
- Customers leave items with us at their own discretion. We cannot except responsibility for item shrinkage or damage through fire, flood, loss or material damage. We will always try to compensate and resolve any issues with our upmost care and attention.
- We do not replace old for new and therefore need to establish the age and condition of the item(s) prior to any compensation being paid out. We will apply a depreciated value to the item(s) as set out by the TSA guidelines. We will aim to always compensate towards the value of the item.
- We use our checklist system simply as a guideline for items given and bagged.
- We cannot except any responsibility for damage to plastic poppers, buttons, or zips. We encourage the use of slips or ties on duvet covers where possible.
- Laundry given to us to process must be stored in clean dry bags and any damp items can cause damage/mould. We do not hold responsibility for any wet items.
- We will not be held responsible for missing items that are not bagged or labelled correctly prior to dropping off to our premises. We encourage all items to be labelled to enable easy identification of property or holiday let name.
Stain Removal
- Pillowpress does not guarantee removal of all stains.
- We will always endeavour to stain remove and treat where possible in the time frame allowed.
- We are not responsible for any stained items that we cannot remove. We can stain treat each time once. For any further treatment required the total cost of the item will be charged.
Clothing Items
- We cannot take an inventory or check washing label instructions for each individual garment, unless stated so by the client. We are unable accept any complaints of colour fastness, shrinkage or missing buttons. Customers must make us aware of any delicate items that require special care and attention.
- By using our service, you agree that your clothes are suitable to be washed in warm water with detergent on a maximum 1400ph spin cycle, and dried using heat in a commercial scale tumble dryer. We cannot be responsible for any damage to clothing that is not suitable for this standard laundering process. Similarly, we reserve the right to refuse to service items that we feel will be hazardous to our staff, such as items heavily soiled with human or animal waste. This is for the health and safety of our team.
After Laundry service
- If you request that we deliver and leave your laundry unattended (e.g., on your porch, in a hallway, or in your foyer) or with a third party (e.g., with a doorman or a neighbour), we are not responsible for your laundry before we have picked it up or after we have dropped it off. You also agree that our records of pick-up and drop-off times are true and accurate.
- We request a collection date and will contact you to collect. Contact to collect laundry will be made and we reserve the right to dispose of any laundry left uncollected after 2 months.
- We cannot store laundry for more than 2 months. We will notify the customer before removing the laundry from our stores after 2 months.
